Shaw, 91, of McKee, East Freedom RD, died Sunday morning, Nov. 16, 2003, at the Presbyterian Home of Hollidaysburg. She was born Jan. 21, 1912, in Saxton, the daughter of Harry B. and Annie M. (Rhodes) Quarry. She married Dean F. Shaw in April 1930. Mr. Shaw died in August 1966. She was a member of McKee United Methodist Church and served as a former Sunday school and Bible school teacher in the church. She retired from the East Freedom Elementary School cafeteria after 25 years of service. She was a 1930 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. She served as a volunteer in the laboratory and snack bar at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, for 20 years. She is survived by a son, James H.; and a daughter, Lois Woomer, both of McKee; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by Clifford Thompson of East Sharpsburg, Roaring Spring RD, who was raised by Dorothy's father and mother in the family home. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in The J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday by Pastor Charles Baughman. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to McKee United Methodist Church or the Presbyterian Home.
