All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ GERTRUDE "LOUISE" SHAW Gertrude (Louise) Shaw, 82, of 1205 Lower Bodines Rd., Trout Run died unexpectedly at Williamsport Hospital on Monday, January 22, 2007. She was born April 17, 1924 in Martinsburg, the daughter of W. Clair and Martha M. (Detwiler) Weitzel. On October 8, 1940 she married Forrest H. Shaw who died Feb. 11, 2004. Surviving are daughters: Barbara and Frank Henry of Pennsylvania Furnace, Beverly Riggleman and David Ewing of Tyrone, Bonnie and Rev. Timothy Gardner of Trout Run and Beatrice and Harold Brown of Montoursville; sons: Robert J. and Susan Shaw of Warriors Mark, Alvin D. and Susie Shaw of Cogan Station and Walter (Michael) Shaw of Trout Run; 38 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Morgan of Pensacola, FL and a stepsister Anita Greeson of Monroe, LA. She had a special relationship with her grandson Mat Shaw who she helped raise. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four sons: Forrest Ronald, William Larry, Richard Wayne and David Lynn Shaw; sisters Virginia Kauffman, Ruth Guyer and brothers Kenneth Weitzel and L. Clair Weitzel Jr. She was born and raised in the Morrison's Cove area, moving to Warriors Mark in 1953 and then Lycoming Co. in 1969. She retired as a cook at Steam Valley Inn, Trout Run. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at noon with Rev. Timothy Gardner and Rev. Ricky Phillips at the Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Burial will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. Tyrone Daily Herald, January 24, 2007
