LEWIS LEVI SHAW
 
Of 2009 Sixteenth Avenue, died at his home at 4:15 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon after an extended illness.  He was born at Puzzletown, 
February 24, 1877, the son of Levi and Hannah (Stiffler) Shaw.  He was 
a member of Dry Run Gospel Tabernacle and preached there for seven 
years.  He retired in 1938 from the Second Street Tank Shop of the 
Pennsylvania Railroad after 37 years' service.  Surviving are his wife, 
Mrs. Martha Jane (Leighty) Shaw; two daughters, Mrs. Elva Wertz and 
Mrs. Nora Vandrew, both of Altoona; four sons, Ray E., Wilbur and Bud, 
all of Altoona; Lewis of Blue Knob; 17 grandchildren and three 
brothers, Wilson, Miles and Charles, all of Newry.  Friends will be 
received at the Laughlin Funeral Home after 7 o'clock this evening.
