Mrs. Susan Shaw, known as grandmother Shaw, quietly passed from this to a better world Wednesday, April 27, at eleven o'clock a.m. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Isaac Kreider at the Lutheran church, on Friday at half-past ten o'clock. Mother Shaw has been a consistent church member for a great many years and has now gone to the never ending rest which awaits all faithful followers of the Lord. She had nearly lived out the four score years. Her family is scattered - one in Idaho, one in Illinois, one in Jefferson county, one in Cambria county, two in Philipsburg and Mrs. Geo. Glasgow living in the vicinity of Bellwood, the last named being the only one that could minister to her wants in her last hours. She had been sleeping most of the time for the last couple of days and about fifteen minutes before she died she woke up and called all into her room and told them she could not last but a few minutes, and then sank into the sleep of death. On Friday at 10 funeral services were conducted by Rev. I. Kreider, assisted by Rev. S. F. Forgues, pastor of the Baptist church. One son, two sons-in-law, two daughters, and some of grand and great grand-children were present. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., Thursday, May 5, 1887, page 1
