Shaw, aged 24, of 2403 Seventeenth avenue at 9.45 o'clock last night in Mercy hospital. He had not regained consciousness since the accident, having suffered a fractured skull. Five other occupants of the automobile escaped with minor injuries, including the victim's wife, Mrs. Virginia (McClaren) Shaw, whom he married on Nov. 1, a brother, Wilbur Shaw, Harry J. Leeper of 2219 Twelfth avenue, Roy Miller of 2119 Thirteenth avenue and *. L. Robbins of 1510 Seventeenth avenue. The party had started for Braddock but turned back when Wilbur Shaw became ill. The accident occurred on the eastbound highway on Cresson mountain, about eight miles west of Duncansville, at 2.40 o'clock Tuesday morning. The car skidded on an icy spot on the highway and Willard Shaw was thrown from the machine as it overturned. Willard R. Shaw was born in Duncansville on March 21, 1917, a son of Lewis L. and Martha (Leighty) Shaw, and was employed as a machinist in the Second street truck shop of the Altoona works. He was a well known member of the Gospel quartet and attended the Dry Run Community church. Surviving are his wife, his parents in Duncansville, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Elva Wertz, Wilbur A. and Bud Shaw, all of the city, Mrs. Nora VanDrew and Lewis F. Shaw of Duncansville, and Roy E. Shaw of Altoona, R.D. No. 3 Friends are being received at the Laughlin funeral home. SHAW - Funeral services for Willard Shaw of 2403 Seventeenth avenue will be held Sunday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock at the Laughlin funeral home in charge of Rev. Ralph H. Stoll.
