Mr. Shearer, 91, of Southwest Greensburg, formerly of Altoona, died Monday, Jan. 17, 1994, at Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center. Mr. Shearer retired as an inspector from the test department of the Pennsylvania Railroad, after 52 years' service. He was born Dec. 2, 1902, in Harrisburg, the son of A. L. and Elizabeth (Shaffer) Shearer. He married Martha McCloskey. She died in 1991. Surviving are two children: Paul D. Jr. of Southwest Greensburg and Barbara Shattuck of Sinking Springs; five grandchildren and a great grandson. Mr. Shearer was a member of Maplewood United Presbyterian Church, Greensburg and had served as an elder at Juniata Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Mountain Lodge, F&AM, Altoona Consistory, Jaffa Shrine and Jaffa Chanters. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Coshey-Nicholson Funeral Home, Greensburg. SHEARER - Services for Paul D. Shearer Sr., formerly of Altoona, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maplewood United Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. I. Lee Page. Interment at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Coshey-Nicholson Funeral Home, 319 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg.
