B. Furry, whilst in her usual health and sitting beside the table Friday evening, suddenly fell to the floor and instantly the light of her life went out forever. Mrs. Shelby was about 80 years of age and upwards. During the greater portion of these long years she had been a resident of this village and vicinity and a member of the German Baptist church, and having adorned the profession of faith leaves behind her to mourning friends bright hopes of a blissful immortality. Altoona Tribune, February 14, 1889 Note: This may be Shelly instead of Shelby. John, aged 63, and Frances, aged 66, Shelly appear in the 1870 Census, Martinsburg, Blair County. They appear in the same place in the 1880 census, aged 73 and 71.
