DEATHS OF A DAY

WILLIAM J. SHERMAN.

William J. Sherman, a well known railroad conductor in the local yard,
and residing at Fourteenth avenue and Nineteenth street, died at the
Altoona hospital last night at 8:55 o'clock of peritonitis.  He was
admitted to the institution yesterday and sank rapidly until death
occurred.  He is survived by his wife, who was at his bedside when the
end came, and one daughter.  He was aged 56 years.  The remains were
given over to Undertakers Roher & Mauk to be prepared for burial.
