Sherry, 58, of 117 W. 14th St., Tyrone, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 7:17 p.m. at his residence. He was born February 28, 1949 in Kittanning, a son of the late Edwin Jr. and Beatrice Lucille (Bowser) Sherry. On September 5, 2005 in Tyrone he married Cindy L. Shirey. Surviving are his wife, 2 daughters, Kelly Scarbeck and husband Greg of Punxsutawney, Jennifer Sherry of Tyrone, a son Paul F. Jr. of Ft. Hood, Texas, 5 grandchildren, Brook, Benjamin and Jacob Scarbeck, Samantha Jo and Isaiah Nedimyer, 3 stepchildren, Mark and Aaron Carrico and Katie Jo Nedimyer all of Tyrone, a brother Edwin John Sherry and wife Kim of Michigan, 2 sisters, Aurelia Honaker and Anna Marie Fugate both of Georgia, his mother-in-law Thelma Clapper of Tyrone and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Sherry retired in June 2004 from the State Correctional Institution at Rockview serving as a Sergeant following 20 years service. He was currently employed as head of security for the State College Spikes minor league baseball team. He previously worked for the Allegheny County Sheriff Department. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a Corporal in Quantico, Virginia. He had been a member of the Tyrone Elks and the Tyrone American Legion. Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Baughman Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home of Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
