SHIFFLER At his home, 317 Twenty-second avenue, John E. Shiffler died at 9:30 yesterday morning of a complication of diseases, after an extended illness of over two years. The deceased was born at Roaring Spring, April 11, 1886. In early boyhood he came with his parents to this city, where he has resided since. He was employed, up until his recent illness, as a fireman in the Altoona yards of the P.R.R. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Anna Rhodes, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. S. C. Slippey, Mrs. A. B. Laws and Harvey Shiffler, all of this city; Grace, Earl, Chester and Ruth, at home. The deceased was a member of the Fourth Street Church of God, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen, and the P.R.R Relief association. The funeral services will be held at his late home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Private interment in Grandview cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, January 19, 1917
