Shillen, formerly of this city where he was employed as assistant manager of the Woolworth stores, died at St. Joseph's hospital on Oct. 15. He was a seaman on board the Italian ship Mannase and his death was due to injuries received when he fell through an open hatchway on board ship. He was treated in a hospital in Italy and afterwards brought to this county where he received treatment in Boston and New York. The following brothers and sisters survive: J. Christian and C. Frank of Lancaster, Mrs. Albert Pashke of West Saulsburg, Mrs. Edgar Heims of Enola and Mrs. W. S. Hallman of 39 1/2 Washington avenue, this city. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at Lancaster. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday Morning, October 23, 1918
