SHOENFELT Of 847 Main street, Roaring Spring, died at 9.30 o'clock this morning at his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Shoenfelt was born Jan. 10, 1884, at Roaring Spring, R.D., a son of John and Sarah (Treese) Shoenfelt. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Carpenter, whom he married Dec. 24, 1919, in Altoona; three daughters and one son, Mrs. Ila Lillard of Front Royal, Va., Mrs. Mildred Benner of Roaring Spring, Mrs. Ruth Metzker of Somerset and Denver, at home; three grandchildren and two brothers and two sisters, Ira of Claysburg, John of Chester and Mrs. Mary Burk and Mrs. Maude Helsel of Roaring Spring. Mr. Shoenfelt retired in 1950 as a welder with the Pennsylvania railroad. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist church, Roaring Spring; the Methodist Men's organization and the Men's Bible class. Friends will be received at the Hite funeral home, Roaring Spring, after 7 o'clock tomorrow evening. Altoona Mirror, December 20, 1954
