Henry Shoenfelt, an old and respected citizen of Taylor township, died at his residence on the 19th, aged 73 years and 6 months. Mr. Shoenfelt lived all his life in this locality. He was a kind-hearted man, an earnest Christian and a member of the Reformed church for almost half a century. His funeral occurred on Saturday last, Rev. W. A. Long, his pastor, preaching an earnest sermon. His remains were laid to rest in the Sharpsburg cemetery. He leaves a wife, two sons and three daughters to mourn his departure: George and Jacob Shoenfelt, Mrs. A. V. Dively, Mrs. Samuel Lynn and Mrs. David Slick. Mr. Shoenfelt was a kind and affectionate husband and loving father. Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, March 23, 1891
