SHOENFELT Of 523 New St., Roaring Spring, died at his home at 7.30 a.m. today. He was born at Roaring Spring RD April 12, 1882, a son of John and Sarah (Treese) Shoenfelt, and married Anna Short on June 20, 1915. His wife died in August 1943 and a son, Arnold, was killed in World War II. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Valeska Gochnour of Roaring Spring, Mrs. Leona Heuston of Roaring Spring RD and Mrs. Gladys Hoover of East Freedom RD; two step-sons, Ralph Ott of Roaring Spring and William Ott of Syracuse, N.Y.; one brother and two sisters, John of Chester, Mrs. Maude Helsel and Mrs. Mary Burke of Roaring Spring; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Shoenfelt was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, and the Shawnee Conservation Association. He retired from the D. M. Bare Paper Company in 1944. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, after 7 p.m. tomorrow. Altoona Mirror, May 19, 1962
