MARIA SHOENFELT Mrs. Maria Whitaker Shoenfelt, widow of John M. Shoenfelt, died at her home on East Allegheny street, Wednesday evening at 7:45 of paralysis. She was born at Hickory Bottom, Bedford county, September 10, 1845. She was united in marriage with John M. Shoenfelt, residing for many years on Piney Creek, where they reared a large family of children. After Mr. Shoenfelt's death about a year ago she moved with her family to Fredericksburg, and last fall from there to this place, where they purchased and occupied the Curtis home on East Allegheny street. She is survived by the following children: James of Altoona; Harry of Juniata; Reuben of Hollidaysburg; Charles of Philadelphia; Homer of Martinsburg, R.D. 2; Irvin at home; Mrs. H. D. Brumbaugh and Mrs. Frank Brumbaugh, of Martinsburg, R.D.; Mrs. D. D. Detwiler of South Altoona; Mrs. J. B. Sudgate of Scranton; Miss Ella of Altoona, and Margaret and Carrie at home. She is also survived by these brothers and sisters: Rev. Henry Whitaker of Lancaster; Mrs. Harriet Bollinger of Hagerstown, Md.; Reuben Whitaker, Ellen and Susan Whitaker of Martinsburg, R.D. 2. Deceased was a member of the Brethren in Christ church. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30, and interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
