He was born in Huston township Oct. 29, 1884, a son of David and Kathryn (Sorrick) Showalter and was married Feb. 27, 1907, at Newry to Minnie Smith. Surviving are his wife, a son, Roy of Roaring Spring, R.D. 1; a daughter, Mrs. Albert Showalter; seven grandchildren, one of whom is stationed at Keesler field, Miss., five great-grandchildren and two brothers, Harry of Roaring Spring, R.D., and Ezra of Roaring Spring. Mr. Showalter was educated in the Huston township schools and was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran church, Roaring Spring. Friends will be received at the home. SHOWALTER - Funeral services for Elmer Sorrick Showalter of Roaring Spring, R.D., will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the St. Luke's Lutheran church, Roaring Spring in charge of Rev. E.W. Huston. Interment in the Greenlawn cemetery, Roaring Spring. Friends will be received at the house until time for services.
