All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ Husband Finds Wife Dead In Bed at Home Mrs. Monticello Showers, aged 46, of 602 Fifth avenue was found dead in bed at her home about 7:15 o'clock this morning by her husband, Fred, when he returned home from work. Death resulted from natural causes, Deputy Coroner Edgar G. Walls reported. Mr. Showers left for his work in the Fourth street shops of the Altoona works about 10:20 o'clock last night. Mrs. Showers then appeared as usual. She had been ill for the past several years, her condition requiring surgical attention. Mrs. Showers was born Dec. 25, 1904, a daughter of Lewis and Serella (Griffith) Daugherty. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian church. Surviving are her husband, one son, Wayne Mills of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Serella Mae Boon of Arlington, Va.; two grandchildren, her mother, of the city, one sister and one brother, Mrs. Helen G. Pross and Byron Daugherty of the city. Friends will be received at the Myers funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
