The funeral of Mrs. Mary Shultz, wife of B. F. Shultz, of near Williamsburg, took place here on Friday the 20th, inst. She leaves behind her a husband and a number of children and grand children, together with a large circle of friends to mourn her departure. She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. Early in life at the age of sixteen, she was converted and united with the Baptist church, of which she remained a consistent member through life. She was for many years a great sufferer, but with all her afflictions she was patient and kind, apparently reconciled to what ever God saw fit to send upon her. The end was calm and peaceful. Her skies seemed to grow brighter and brighter until finally she quietly passed through the Golden Gate into the New Jerusalem. To the bereaved family we extend our sympathy and prayers, urging them to look up through their tears, knowing that what is their loss is her eternal gain. Martinsburg Herald, January 26, 1888
