SHUNK Of 1110 Seventeenth street, who retired as an engineer on the Pittsburgh division May 1, 1935, died at 8.20 o'clock last night in the Altoona hospital where he was admitted last Wednesday. He was born in Jennerstown April 1, 1885, a son of Jonathan and Amanda (Shaffer) Shunk, and married Miss Bertha Hays, who died Jan. 7, 1947. Mr. Shunk was a member of the First Methodist church, the Masonic orders and Jaffa Shrine. He came to Altoona and entered the service of the railroad company as a fireman Dec. 18, 1888. Surviving are one brother and one sister, George E. of Altoona and Mrs. Charles N. Persing of Bellwood. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
