Mrs. Malinda Sickles, wife of Theodore Sickles, to whom she was married in October 1848, at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage, Beaver street, Allegheny City, died on Tuesday morning last. She had been unwell for some time past, but her death was very unexpected at this time. She was a member of the Baptist church for over fifty years. She became a member of the church when she was but 11 years of age under the ministry of Rev. A. K. Bell, D.D., at Duncansville, Pa. Her maiden name was Malinda Stealey [?]. She was a distant relative of Daniel Boone. She has been an active Christian worker ever since. She is the mother of eleven children ten of whom are still living: D. Newton, Charles N., Jacob B. [E.?], William T., and John Sickles, Mrs. Van Zandt, Mrs. Baird, Mrs. Dillon, all of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Flick of Logan county, Ill., and Lizzie Sickles, unmarried. She was a kind and affectionate mother and very charitable. She was especially kind to the poor. Her age at the time of death was 60 years and 2 months. Her funeral will be to-day, December 11, at 3 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. M. M. Foose. Her remains will be laid to rest in Greenlawn cemetery here.
