Thursday morning at 8.30 o'clock, Miss Alice Gertrude Simons died at her home, No. 1564 Logan avenue from a complication of diseases. Miss Simons has not been in the best of health for quite a long time although she continued at her work as usual until two weeks ago; when she was compelled to remain at home, later taking her bed. She grew gradually worse until God in His good and wise providence called her home to rest. Miss Simons was not a member of any church, but her faith in the Master gave evidence that she was ready to go home and when the end came, she passed peacefully away, fully trusting in her God. Alice Gertrude Simons was born at Mt. Union September 15, 1881, making her age 27 years, 3 months and 15 days. In 1887, she moved with her parents to Tyrone, where she has resided ever since. She was employed as a counter at the Morrison and Cass paper mill and was considered an exemplary young lady in every respect, having the esteem and love of all her associates. She leaves to mourn her death a loving mother and the following brothers and sisters: Oscar, of Williamsburg; Clarence, Mrs. Harry Scruders and Miss Anna Simons, of Tyrone. Brief services were conducted at the home on Logan ave. on Saturday morning at 10:30. The body was taken to Mt. Union where short services were held at the home of A. Simons.
