Yesterday morning at ten minutes after 9 o'clock, Mark Skelly died at his home on Eighth street between Green and Chestnut avenues, of consumption. He had been ailing for over a year past. Mr. Skelly was born at Wilmore, Cambria county, and was aged 37 years. Four fourteen years deceased was an employe of the Pennsylvania railroad company in the capacity of a yard conductor. One year ago on January 22 last Mr. Skelly met with an accident which incapacitated him from further work. In attempting the mount the engine of a train he slipped and his left foot went under the wheels, being so terribly crushed as to render its amputation at the ankle necessary. The operation was performed at the hospital. Since that time he was unable to do active work. Mr. Skelly leaves a wife but no children. His father resides at Wilmore, but his mother is dead. One sister, Miss Annie Skelly, of Wilmore, two brothers, Wes, of Wilmore, and John, of Tennessee. Deceased was a good citizen and had many friends. He was a consistent member of St. John's Catholic church. His funeral will take place Friday morning, leaving the house at 8.30 o'clock and proceeding to the church where service will be held.
