SLEMMER Of 604 4th Street, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Butler Veterans Administrations Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona on July 16, 1909, a son of Milton and Annabelle (Dougherty) Slemmer, and on April 17, 1933, in Hollidaysburg, was united in marriage with Mary Amerine by the Rev. T. Stacey Capers. Surviving are his wife, a son, Robert W. of the city, three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Gordon Trexler and Mrs. Viola Miller of the city, Mrs. Elmer Baker in Florida and James in Farrell. He was of the E.U.B. faith, a veteran of navy Service in World War II, and an employee of the Maximon Machine Company. Friends will be received in the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Altoona Mirror, May 16, 1966
