May St., Orange City, Fla., formerly of Claysburg, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1982, in Volusia Memorial Hospital, DeLand, Fla. Mr. Sloan retired as a telephone installer from Bell Telephone in Altoona. He was born Oct. 26, 1901, in Gallitzin, the son of Joseph and Mary (Sellers) Sloan. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Kelley of Saginaw, Mich., seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and three sisters: Mrs. Marie Cassidy and Ruth of Cresson, Sister Dorothy RSM of Pittsburgh and Walter of Erie. Mr. Sloan was a veteran of World War I. He was a past commander of the Hollidaysburg American Legion. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg. SLOAN - Services for Mark F. Sloan, formerly of Claysburg, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg. Interment in Claysburg Union Cemetery.
