MRS. ELIZABETH SMELKER
 
Widow of James V. Smelker, died at her home at 220 Clark Street, 
Bellwood, at 7:40 o'clock last evening after six weeks' illness.  She 
was preceded in death by her husband, November 15, 1929.  Mrs. Smelker 
was born January 11, 1872, in Antis Township, a daughter of Adie F. and 
Annie (Boyles) Irvin. She was a lifelong member of the Logan Valley 
Baptist Church and the W.C.T.U.  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ann 
E. Altman of Bellwood; two brothers, Edward Irvin of Pecos, New Mexico 
and William of Bellwood; three sisters Miss Ellen of Gospel Hollow; 
Miss Alice and Miss Annie of Bellwood; a granddaughter, Harriet Kay 
Altman.  Friends will be received at the home from 9 o'clock Thursday 
morning until 9 o'clock Friday morning and thereafter at the Fuoss 
Mortuary.
