Mrs. Ann Margaret Smith, widow of James B. Smith, a former respected resident of the city and for many years superintendent of the Altoona hospital, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. B. Reifsneider, 4813 Chester avenue, Philadelphia, yesterday morning. Diseases incident to old age were the cause of death, she being aged 90 years, 3 months and 16 days. Deceased was born at Emmittsburg, Md., and resided for many years in this city. She became superintendent of the Altoona hospital a couple of years after it was erected and served in that capacity for a number of years. She capably filled the office and was held in the highest regard and respect by those who shared her acquaintance. On resigning the position she took up her residence with her daughter and has since resided with her. She is also survived by one son, Howard Smith, of 1303 Third avenue. Services will be held at the home of her daughter at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening and on Thursday interment will be made at Waynesboro.
