BARBARA ELLEN SMITH

Of 312 Sixth avenue, Juniata, died at 9.45 o'clock this morning in 
Mercy hospital after an extended illness. She was born at Piney Creek, 
Blair county, Oct. 9, 1868, a daughter of Jacob and Margaret 
(Snowberger) Shoenfelt. Her husband, Harvey Smith, died Jan. 3, 1952. 
She was a member of the First Methodist church, Juniata, and the 
Forward Movement class. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Grace 
Turnbaugh of Juniata, Mrs. Martha McCaulley of Bellwood, Mrs. Margaret 
McClellan and Mrs. Viola Nagle of Juniata gap and Miss Dorothy of 
Altoona; three sons, Harry E. of Juniata, Jacob G. of Juniata Gap and 
Paul M. of Bellwood; 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four 
great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates 
funeral home after 6 o'clock tomorrow evening.
