CLAUDE H. SMITH,

Former resident of Tyrone, died at Brockway, Jefferson county, on 
Tuesday after a five months' illness from an abscess on the brain and a 
complication of diseases.  Deceased was aged about 48 years and was the 
son of the late Carson Smith, for a number of years a resident of 
Northwood, Tyrone.  He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Carson Smith, 
his wife and two brothers, George and Charles Smith of Brockway, and 
the following children: Mrs. Reuben Thompson, Charles Smith, Mrs. 
Melvin Lewis and Richard Smith, all of Tyrone, Mrs. Edward Miles of 
Bradford, Miss Clara Smith of Philadelphia and George Leroy Smith, a 
soldier in the United States army located in the Hawaiian islands.  The 
body will be brought to Graham funeral parlors where funeral services 
will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock.  Interment will be 
made in Grandview.
