SMITH A well-known Altoona resident, died at 1.20 o'clock Monday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. M. G. Palmer of 2400 Hartcraft street, Philadelphia, with whom she had resided for two years. Mrs. Smith was born at Canoe Creek, Sept. 10, 1861, and was married to David M. Smith, who died in Altoona, Oct. 27, 1932. The family home was at 211 East Fifth avenue for many years. Surviving are three children, Oliver C. Smith of Ridley Park, Mrs. Palmer, and Mrs. Lila M. Campbell of Altoona; nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was a lifelong member of the Second Avenue United Brethren church. Friend will be received at the Mauk & Yates funeral home until 11 o'clock Thursday morning. SMTIH - The funeral of Mrs. Jennie D. Smith, formerly of Altoona will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday at the Second Avenue United Brethren church, in charge of Rev. Matt Houser. Interment will follow in Rose Hill cemetery. Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates funeral home until 11 a.m. Thursday, in the church after that hour. Altoona Mirror, March 11, 1947
