Wilt farm property in Dry Run, located southwest of Duncansville, was found dead this morning in his bed at the Wilt farmhouse by a neighboring farmer. Smith had been ill last week and on Sunday his employer, Mr. Wilt, who resides in Duncansville, visited at the farm but found that Smith was much improved and seemingly on the road to recovery from what was diagnosed as an attack of quinsy. When Smith failed to make his appearance about the farm this morning, the neighboring farmer became suspicious and upon entering the Wilt farmhouse, found the man to be dead. From an examination by a physician, who was called, it was decided that death had claimed the man last night. Coroner Chester C. Rothrock was notified at noon today of the man's death and this afternoon went to Duncansville to investigate the case. In the meantime the body was removed to the Liebegott funeral parlors in Duncansville to be prepared for burial. That there were no marks on the body which might indicate that the man met with foul play, were apparent to those who viewed the body this morning. Lloyd Smith was unmarried. He was a son of Frank Smith, who is more than 90 years old and who resides with another son, Charles Smith, in Roaring Spring. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, March 6, 1929, p. 13
