At Bellwood on Thursday night at 10.30 o'clock, Marion G. Smith passed away from this life, and will be buried at that place this afternoon at 1 o'clock. Marion G. Smith entered in Captain Henry Wayne's company (F) Seventy-sixth regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers, (Keystone Zouaves) on August 27, 1861, and served for a period of three years, three months and three days. He was a brave and faithful soldier, always ready for duty, never on the sick list, and took part with his company in all their many engagements including the siege of Fort Wagner, at Charleston and Fort Sumter, South Carolina, and during the regiment's campaign in Virginia. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic post at Bellwood. It is hoped that as many of the comrades of his late company and regiment as can will attend the funeral.
