Altoona Mirror June 3, 1954
MRS. M. MAUD SMITH Formerly of 220 Newry Street Hollidaysburg, died at 8 
o'clock last evening in the Presbyterian home, Hollidaysburg, where she had 
been a guest for the past three  years. She was born at Yellow Springs Jan. 
29, 1868, a daughter of Samuel L. and Mary (Donnelly) Hare. She was twice 
married, her first husband, Elmer Thomas, dying In 1912, and her second F.  
Giles Smith, in 1938. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Martha Lafferty of 
Altoona and Mrs. Fern Hahn of Chicago. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First 
Presbyterian church, Altoona. Friends may call at the Lafferty funeral home 
after noon tomorrow
