Miss Smith, who made her home at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Bertha Trexler, 1311 Twelfth avenue sustained a fall at the Trexler home nine weeks ago and fractured her right hip, having ever since been a patient in the hospital. She was a daughter of Samuel and Mary Smith, both deceased of Freedom township, May 11, 84 years ago. She was a consistent and life long member of the Zion Lutheran church in Hollidaysburg and was highly esteemed among a large circle of friends. She is survived by one son, Howard Smith, of Duncansville and four grandchildren, also by two brothers: William Smith of Freedom township and Frank Smith of Duncansville. The remains will be taken to the home of her niece, Mrs. Frederick Rock, 1606 Fourth avenue. The funeral cortege will leave the Rock home Friday morning at 9 o'clock and will proceed overland to the Lutheran church at Newry where the funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock. Rev. Berkey, pastor of the church will conduct the services. Interment will be made in the adjoining Lutheran cemetery.
