Smith, a pioneer resident of this city, coming here with her parents when Altoona was but a village, died on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of her adopted daughter, Mrs. Samuel B. McMinn, 316 East Walton avenue. Death was due to diseases incident to the infirmities of age. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of George and Caroline Huff and was born at Hufftown, Montgomery county, May 15, 1836. The Huff family settled in this city when it was but a village. She was united in marriage with William W. Smith, who died on July 19, 1920. She is survived by one brother, W. A. Huff of Greensburg, and by her adopted daughter, Mrs. McMinn, and was the sister of the late George F. and Harry B. Huff, who were prominent residents of the city. Before the death of her husband, she resided at 1418 Sixth avenue. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was a devout Christian. The body was taken to the Stevens mortuary where it may be viewed by friends at any time. The funeral will be conducted in the Stevens chapel on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with public services. Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, January 31, 1921
