HARRY SMITH Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. today for T. Harry Smith, of 206 East llth st., who died at Tyrone Hospital on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. after a brief illness. The service was held at the Graham & Getz Funeral Home, in charge of the Rev. Raymond F. Wieder. Burial was in Geeseytown Cemetery, Frankstown Twp. He was born at Frankstown on Dec. 19, 1885, the son of George and Juniata Rodkey Smith. On March 24, 1904, at Duncansville, he was married to Loretta Lewis Blyler, who died in 1959. He had been a resident of Tyrone for 43 years. Surviving are nine sons and daughters: Claude E., Thomas H., Jr., David G., William P., Mrs. Bernard Bookhamer, Mrs. A. Roland Miller, Mrs. George Butterbaugh, Jr., all of Tyrone; Donald L., of State College, and Mrs. William Wertz of Milwaukee, Wis. Two daughters, Alfaretta and Janet Louise, preceded him in death. Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Rosamond Shaffer, Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Kernie McClenahen, Danville; Vernard, of New York City, and Leo, of New Castle; 14 grandchildren. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and had served as the church choir director for 30 years. He was a member of Tyrone Lodge 494, Free and Accepted Masons. Smith left his employment as a clerk in the Hollidaysburg Yards of the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. to become associated with the Winter Music Stores. He had been employed by Winter at Altoona and later managed their Tyrone store. Later he was employed by the Ford Music Co., and most recently was employed by Williams Appliance.
