WILLIAM JAMES SMITH

After an illness of several years' duration, a part of which time he 
was confined to his bed, William James Smith, a well known citizen of 
Roaring Spring, died at his home in that borough at 6 o'clock Sunday 
evening, of heart trouble. He was a son of James and Jennie Smith, and 
was born in Freedom township, July 4, 1881. He was married to Miss Etta 
Marsden in 1907. He is survived by his wife and a son, Russell, his 
father, three sisters and two brothers, as follows: Mrs. Minnie Smith 
Showalter, of East Sharpsburg; Mrs. George Heuston, of Rodman; Mrs. 
Pearl Shaw, of Newry; George, of Freedom township, and Harvey, of 
Newry.
