He was born on Jan. 12, 1856, at Chambersburg, a son of Charles and Amanda McPherson Smith. He was married to Lydia Zeigler, now deceased. Mr. Smith is survived by three sons and one daughter, Frederick Smith of Northwood, Thomas Smith of Tyrone and Joseph and Margaret Smith of Northwood. He was a member of the Lutheran church of Tyrone and of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was retired from the railroad in 1920. SMITH - Funeral services for the late William Baker Smith of Northwood, Snyder township, will be conducted by Rev. E. M. Morgan of English Lutheran church, Tyrone, Pa. Services will be held at the home on Wednesday at 2.30 p.m. Interment following in Grandview cemetery, Tyrone. Friends are being received at the home. Altoona Mirror, January 4, 1938
