SMITH.

  William Donald Smith, son of J. F. and wife of 1908 Pine avenue, 
mention of whose illness was made yesterday, died yesterday afternoon 
at 5 o'clock in the St. Frances hospital in Pittsburgh from pneumonia 
following an attack of influenza.  He was a fireman in the local yards 
of the P.R.R. until October 18, when he entered the S.A.T.C. in the 
Carnegie Tech at Pittsburgh.  He was born in this city on Jan. 12, 
1899, and is survived by his parents and four brothers and one sister: 
Gorgon P., of 481 M. T. Co., located at Camp Merritt, N.J., Herbert, J. 
Frank Jr., Robert S. and Catharine J., all at home.  The body will be 
brought to this city for interment.
