SMOUSE Died last night at 7.30 o'clock at the Nason hospital, Roaring Spring, where he was admitted thirteen weeks ago for kidney and bladder trouble. He was born on Sept. 17, 1858, on a farm near Martinsburg, a son of John and Elizabeth (Naugle) Smouse. He was married on May 20, 1883, to Miss Rachel Lavina Falknor at the home of the bride's parents at Henrietta by Rev. John Stoner. Surviving are his wife, one son, Harry Smouse of Akron, O., and one daughter, Mrs. Shannon Replogle of Martinsburg. He is also survived by two brothers, John M. and Andrew M. Smouse, both of Martinsburg, R.D. No. 1, and two grandchildren. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Reformed church. He was a mason by trade and resided all of his life in the cove. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Shannon Replogle, on Woodlawn avenue, Martinsburg, in charge of Rev. George E. Dillinger, his pastor, assisted by Rev. E. F. Berger of the Martinsburg Church of God. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant cemetery, Henrietta.
