Yesterday at 1 o'clock p.m. Mr. William Snack died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. J. Wilson, on Cambria street, Bellwood, of diseases incident to old age. He was born in Hagerstown, Md., April 22, 1822, hence was almost 76 years old. Almost all his life had been spent in Huntingdon county, where he was well known. He was one of a large family, of whom only one brother and one sister remain. He had been in feeble health for some time and about a year and a half ago came to his daughter's home, where he remained until his death. His end was peaceful. For some time he had realized that medical skill and tender care were in vain, and though circumstances deprived him of the fellowship of the church militant, he patiently waited the summons to join the church triumphant; and while his stalwart frame was slowly wasting and in the midst of intense suffering, he rejoiced in the Christian's hope. Two daughters (besides his sorrowing wife) survive: Mrs. J. J. Wiley, at whose home he died, and Mrs. W. H. Baird, of Lewistown. The funeral services will be held at the home of his daughter tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Logan Valley cemetery. Morning Tribune, Thursday, December 30, 1897
