Ira Snowberger died at his home in Freedom township, near Newry, yesterday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock, death being caused by pneumonia, following an attack of influenza from which he had suffered for one week. He was a son of Adonijah and Annie Snowberger, and was born in East Freedom in February, 1887, where he resided all his life, until he removed to the farm of his father-in-law, Ex-Sheriff H. S. Holland, near Newry. He is survived by his parents and one brother, Miles Snowberger, of East Freedom and one sister, Cora, at home. He is also survived by his wife, who was Miss Florine Holland, oldest daughter of Ex-Sheriff H. S. Holland, and two daughters and one son, Catharine, Marguerite and Emmert, all at home. For a number of years, he was in the trucking business with his father at East Freedom but after his father-in-law removed from the farm, he took possession, and has been following farming since. After the fall work on the farm was completed, he was employed for a short time at the Standard Refractories Brick works at Claysburg, where he was working when he contracted the disease. He was a consistent member of the Leamersville Church of the Brethren. The remains will be laid to rest in the Riverview cemetery at Leamersville, at a time to be announced later. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Monday Morning, December 16, 1918 HOLLIDAYSBURG The funeral of the late Ira Snowberger, will be held at the late home, in Freedom township, a mile southwest of Newry, this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
