All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ DAVID SNYDER One of the oldest resident of Tyrone, died yesterday morning at 4:50 o'clock of diseases incident to old age, having been confined to his bed for more than a year. He was born at Bald Eagle on Oct. 28, 1837. He moved to Tyrone when a mere child with his parents and grew up with the town, following the occupation of a blacksmith. He was a member of the Columbia Avenue Methodist church and a charter member of Sinking Spring lodge No. 127, Knights of Pythias. On July 7, 1859, he and Miss Anna M. Williams were united in marriage. To this union were born ten children, six of whom survive: William C., Samuel F., Thomas E., Harry, Charles B. and Mrs. Minnie Peary, all of Tyrone. Mrs. Snyder preceded him to the grave on May 12, 1883. Mr. Snyder was the last of his family, but he leaves behind the six children, thirty-two grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the home on West Nineteenth street on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by Rev. J. E. Beard, pastor of the Columbia Avenue church. Interment in Grandview cemetery.
