Snyder, retired telegrapher and station agent, died at the home of his son, Clarence E. Snyder, 1019 Lexington avenue, Thursday, 12:30 noon. Mr. Snyder had not been well, but was able to assist with preparations for a camping trip. He was sitting in the living room when stricken with a heart attack, dying in a few moments. Mr. Snyder was born in centre county in 1858. He had been employed by the P. R. R. at Snow Shoe, Tyrone and Bellefonte, retiring four years ago and coming to Altoona to live. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, the P.O.S. OF A. and the P. R. R. Veterans association. His wife is dead. Surviving are the son at whose home he died, four brothers and three sisters: James H. Snyder, Snow Shoe Intersection; George C. Snyder, Mill Hall; Eugene L. Snyder, Buffalo, N.Y.; William C. Snyder, Pittsburg; Mrs. C. S. Corse, Rye, N.Y.; Mrs. Ella Peters, Tyrone; Mrs. Anna Belle Kepler, Baltimore. Funeral service will be held at the Snyder home Sunday, 4 p.m. The body will be taken Monday, 7 a.m. to Snow shoe Intersection, to the home of his brother, J. H. Snyder, where service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at that place. Altoona Tribune, Saturday, June 27, 1931, page 14
