East Tyrone Items

  Mrs. Snyder, mother of David Snyder, died Tuesday evening at 9 
o'clock, at the advanced age of 83 years.  Funeral will be at same hour 
as that of Mrs. McClain.  She was a member of the Baptist church and 
has left behind her a host of admiring friends.

   The bodies of Mrs. McClain and Mrs. Snyder of East Tyrone were 
interred Bald Eagle cemetery Thursday last.
   The body of Mrs. Snyder was brought in church and funeral preached 
by Rev. Thrush of U. B. Church, Tyrone.  The church was crowded, and 
while services were in progress the funeral of Mrs. McClain arrived and 
the interment took place.  Mrs. Snyder was the mother of 9 children, 7 
of whom survive her; the mother of 32 grandchildren and 27 great-
grandchildren.   For 59 years she was a member of the Baptist Church.  
Three hours before her death she arose from her bed, walked across the 
room and inquired of her daughter how she and the children were, then 
returned to her bed and never again spoke.  She was a devoted Christian 
and loved the church of her choice, and truly can it be said, her 
influence rested as a benediction upon her family.  She was aged 82 
years, 8 months and 13 days.
