Sollenberger is the first Williamsburger to make the supreme sacrifice for his country. Joseph Sollenberger, of Spring street, received official notice Monday evening of the death of his son, Robert, who was killed in action August 4, in France. He was drafted into the service April 3 and sent to Camp Lee, Va., attached to Co. C 319th infantry. Robert Franklin was a son of Joseph and Clara B. (deceased) Sollenberger, born in Morrison's Cove 23 years ago next November. For the past several years he had been employed at the S. H. Dean farm on Clover Creek and later at the paper mill. He was a genial and pleasant companion and made friends readily among his associates. Besides his father is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Irene Kipe, infant daughter; one sister and two brothers: Mrs. Lola McCall, near Huntingdon; Isaac H., in the national service; Clair at home.
