All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ JOSEPH RUDOLPH SPANG Retired employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Laura Dodson, 811 Twenty-third street, at 6.45 o'clock last evening after an extended illness. He was born in Claysburg on Jan. 29, 1863, a son of David and Margaret (Weyandt) Spang, and married Miss Mary Adeline Conrad, who died in 1924. Mr. Spang retired in 1936 as a car repairman on the eastbound repair tracks with a service record of thirty-one years. Surviving are three daughters and one son, Mrs. Della Claar of Reservoir, Mrs. Dodson of the city, Mrs. Catherine Mentzer of Hollidaysburg and William Spang of Cleveland, O., a number [sic] of the East Freedom United Brethren church. The body may be viewed at the home. SPANG - Funeral services for Joseph Rudolph Spang of 811 Twenty-third street will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the East Freedom United Brethren church by Rev. M. L. Wilt of the East Freedom United Brethren church, assisted by Rev. R. S. Oyler of Simpson Methodist church. Interment in Riverview cemetery, Leamersville. The body may be viewed at the home.
