SOPHIA SPIGELMYER Died at the home of her son-in-law, Augustus Heinley, in Tyrone, on Tuesday evening. She was born near Bannerville, Mifflin county, August 11, 1818, and her maiden name was Sophia Knepp. She was married to Valentine Spigelmyer in 1836. They took up their residence in Tyrone about twelve years ago and Mr. Spigelmyer died two years later. Four daughters and one son survive, namely, Mrs. Rachael Snook of Mifflin county, Mrs. Julia Wagner of Laurelton, Mifflin county, Mrs. Leah Wolfgang and Mrs. Jennie Heinley of Tyrone, and Simon Spigelmyer of Byron, Ill. Four brothers and two sisters also survive, namely: John, Simon, Isaiah and Joseph Knepp, all living in Mifflin county, Mrs. John Girard of West Liberty, Ohio, and Mrs. Christina Buoy, who lives in the state of Missouri. Mrs. Spigelmyer was a member of the German Reformed church. The remains will be taken, tomorrow morning, to Black Oak Ridge, Snyder county, for interment. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., March 14, 1895
