Sprankle, 77, of Orchard Crossing, RD 4 Box 55, Tyrone, died at 9 p.m. Friday April 30, 2004 at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1926 in Greenwood a daughter of Ai and Martha (Fleck) Brown. She was married Sept. 12, 1947 at the Greenwood E.U.B. Church to Robert D. Sprankle. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Susan and husband Lee Walls of Warriors Mark and Pamela and husband Jeff Crofcheck of Orchard Crossing, RD 4, Tyrone; four grandchildren, Robert L. and wife Valerie Walls, Jason J. and wife Dawn Walls, Scott J. and wife Lorrie Crofcheck, and Kimberlee Crofcheck and Jeremy LaRosa; seven great- grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; a great-great-grandson, all of Tyrone; and two brothers, Ernest Brown of Silver Springs, Md. and Edwin Brown of Homers Gap, Altoona. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard in 1981 and an infant, Ray; and two sisters, Pauline Albright in 1979 and Martha Wolfe in 1998. She was a graduate of Altoona High School in 1944. She was a former member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church and attended the Tyrone Alliance Church. A member of the Grazierville Luncheon Gang and AARP. She enjoyed and loved her family and friends of the "Grazierville Gang." She had worked in the William F. Gable accounting office for three and a half years, then retired in 1989 from Big Yank Corp., Tyrone after 26 years of service. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing and private interment at the convenience of the family will be at Blair Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 3, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Tyrone Alliance Church with Rev. Tim Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her memory may be made to the Tyrone Alliance Church Bldg. Fund, 2103 Adams Avenue, Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
