Sprankle, familiarly known as "Andy", of Box 116, Tyrone RD 4, died Thursday at 11:50 a.m. at the Tyrone Hospital, where he had been a patient since Dec. 28. He was born June 20, 1918 at Skelp, a son of Zachariah and June Kephart Sprankle. He was married to Dorothy K. Eckley in January, 1946, at Cumberland, Md. He is survived by his wife; three sons and one daughter: Lester E., of Michigan and Charles H., Mrs. David (Wanda) Christine and Eddie Woomer, all of Tyrone; five grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Zack Sprankle and Mrs. Katherine Burns, both of Altoona, RD 3. He was preceded in death by two sisters. He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Co. He retired on disability in 1974 as a driver at Logan Beverage Co., after 26 years of service. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Wayne Walker officiating. Interment will be at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., January 6, 1978 Raymond H.
