SPUHLER Of 1918 8th Ave., died at 2:30 p.m. yesterday, July 13, 1970, in Mercy Hospital, where he was admitted Saturday, after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona Jan. 24, 1888, a son of Frederick J. Spuhler and Catherine (Reckwald) Spuhler, and married Elsie Ritchey, who preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise Sheridan of Altoona; two grandsons, five great-grandchildren and a brother and five sisters, Louise, Mrs. Elizabeth Stevens, Mrs. Mary Griffith, Mrs. Ida Kelley and Edwin M. of Altoona and Sister Mary Cyril, C.S.A., Fond du Lac, Wis. Mr. Spuhler was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He retired as a conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad after 42 years of service. Friends will be received in the Stevens Mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
